Certified nursing assistants (CNA) are generally certified to help assist with basic care for patients in healthcare related facilities. If you are looking to care for patients without the schooling of a registered nurse, then this position may be great for you. However, a nursing assistant can also be a great stepping stone for seeking a career as a RN. A nursing assistant generally helps clean and bathe patients, assists patients with dressing or using the restroom, turns, re-positions, and transfers patients from beds and wheelchairs, listens and relays patient health information to nurses, measures patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and related vital signs, and assists with feeding patients.
