The nurse practitioner is a great career advancement for registered nurses. Generally, a nurse practitioner or (ARNP) will record patient health, medical histories, and current symptoms, observe patients and perform physical exams, generate new plans for patients’ care and update existing plans, perform diagnostic testing, monitor and operate medical devices and equipment, diagnose health problems, perform analysis for patient’s test results and alters treatment plans accordingly, administers medicine and treatment, checks patients’ responses to treatments, communicates with physicians and the surrounding healthcare team, provides education to patients and families for managing illnesses or injuries, and participates in conducting research.
